S4linkedinLinkedIn post formatting and engagement

A masterclass in LinkedIn post structure. This example demonstrates the full anatomy of a high-performing post: a scroll-stopping hook, strategic whitespace, a tightly paced body, a clear takeaway, and an engagement-driving CTA.

I got 50,000 impressions on a post last week.

hook

It wasn't about AI. It wasn't a hot take. It wasn't even that long.

hook

It was 4 sentences about a mistake I made 3 years ago.

hook

Here's what I've learned about LinkedIn posts that actually reach people:

scene-setting

1. The hook is everything. You have 2 lines before the 'see more' cutoff. Make them matter.

rising-action

2. Whitespace is not empty. A single sentence on its own line hits differently than buried in a paragraph.

3. End on feeling, not function. Don't close with 'let me know your thoughts.' Close with something they'll carry with them.

takeaway

The best posts don't teach people things. They remind people of things they already knew but had forgotten.
